Own Molds - Add On
Own Molds: SportingSmiles accepts molds from new customers who have 3D Printed, Plaster or Stone Molds. We will accept 3D printed, plaster or stone molds if you have them and opt not to choose our impression kit but a $35 surcharge will be added to the order. When we receive your molds, they will automatically be scanned into our 3D system and saved on file for life. This means you'll be able to reorder from SportingSmiles whenever you'd like.
Own models are fragile and frail, there's a high chance that that may become damaged in the process of working with them so to avoid that we have our lab scan them in. We will work off the scanned molds to avoid cracking, breaking, or damaging the molds and ship them back to you once the process of scanning them in is complete.
If there is ever a warranty issue, we will then be able to use the scanned molds we have on file for you instead of needing you own molds again.
To use your own molds, purchase any product and add this to your order. We will automatically send a label to send your models into us.
For international customers, you will have to ship your molds and pay for the shipping to our lab as our shipping labels do not work outside the United States.
Do not use your molds to make impressions. We will automatically reject them as we cannot craft a product from impressions created from molds.

Why We Offer This
Why We Charge Extra for Models: We don’t want to damage your own models when making our product. Models can be made of all types of material and during the manufacturing process, we can break\damage your models. We charge a little extra to 3D Scan your impression in and made a duplicate. We will manufacture our dental product off of our model. Having our own model also helps us if any warranties are needed in the future.
Benefits: When we scan in your model, we will have it on file. You can then reorder at the discounted rate and get another order. No need to resend in your models again. If there is an issue with the initial order, we will have something to work off to resolve any issues you might have. If you send us your molds but do not purchase the “own molds” package, all future orders will be considered a “new order” and not a discounted “reorder” because we won’t have your molds on file since we send them back with the final product. The process would have to be repeated when another order is placed along with the full price instead of the discounted reorder price. This is why we encourage customers to choose the Own Molds package that includes a 3D scan for us to keep on file.
Do You Have A STL file: If you have your own STL scan file, we can also use that. The reason there is a charge is because the scan isn’t ready to be printed. The STL file will need to be cleaned up and based to get ready to be 3d printed. Your scan will then be kept on file for life if any reorders are needed in the future.
How to order: You need to add the product you want to your cart and then also add this "Own Molds Add On" product to your cart as well. We will then send you a label to send in your models to us. You want to package them well with padding to prevent any damage during shipping. We cannot control how the mail handles the packaging while enroute and are not responsible for broken, damaged, or lost models that occur while in transit.
*Scanning in impressions is the best way to prevent damaging the models but there is always a chance that the model can be damaged in some way. We will do our best to prevent any damage from occuring but we are not liable for any damage.
